About me

I have received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas in 2019 and completed a year long post-bacc at Utah State University in Logan, Utah in 2022. Discovering and nurturing a love of function pottery at Texas State, I focused on simple pots and the communicative potential of our everyday objects. Atmospheric firing was introduced to me while in undergrad; I have since fired my work primarily in wood or soda kilns, pursuing the fluid marks and alchemy of mineral synthesis between clay and glaze. Primarily the depth of the glaze created when layering slips, glazes and clay to then be corroded and enhanced by the atmposphere of the kiln. My work has been shown in group exhibitions as well as craft markets in the central Texas area.

Besides working in clay, being outdoors and communing with nature is central to my life. I spend time swimming, hiking and camping which fuels my time in the studio. I am eager to incorporate materials personally harvested on these adventures into my process, directly connecting my work to my lived experience.
